We started off the year learning about Francis Beaufort and the Beaufort Scale. As temperatures dropped our teachers taught us all about Anders Celsius and the invention of the thermometer.
We learned more about the 100 square and even started learning about adding tens and units. We always have fun playing our maths games in the classrooms.
In PE we started learning aerobics which is so much fun! We’ve learned that aerobics is a great way to keep our heart healthy! We also played some fun games with the parachute in the PE halls. Ms.Sherin’s class also learned how to play a good old fashioned game of hopscotch!! The boys and girls loved it.
Ms.Quinn’s class made rainmakers as we were also learning all about Australia and the Aboriginals. They had lots of fun trying to make it rain!
Ms.Byrne’s class made some really cool scratch art hats! Very creative pieces! We all worked had with chalk to create decorative fireworks to celebrate Chinese New Year too.
Ms.English’s class were lucky enough to get a very special visit from real detective!! He talked to the children about the importance of staying safe and to always remember to ask the Garda to see his badge. The children got the see his badge, his handcuffs and his Garda vest. The children all got to take home their fingerprint and they were all made into honorary Gardaí with special badges!!
Keep up the great work boys and girls!
